Founded in 1983, the National School of Engineers of Sfax (ENIS) is one of the major institutions for education, research, and technological transfer. It provides training for engineers in seven disciplines, namely electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering, computer engineering, materials engineering, civil engineering, biological engineering, and geo-resources and environmental engineering.

Since 2009, the IEEE branch has been founded at the National School of Engineers in Sfax. Its main aim is to motivate students, inspire them to support their creativity, foster their associative spirit, and communication skills, as well as to attend training sessions and competitions in various engineering fields.
